Marcelo Becerra is currently a Lead Education Specialist at the World Bank. He has extensive experience in the development and implementation of education policies around the world. He holds a Master in economics from the University of Columbia.

He has worked for more than 20 years at the World Bank, where he has led several projects in countries in Latin America and Africa, focusing on improving the quality of education and equity in access to it. In particular, he has worked in several operations on higher education reforms in several countries in Latin America.

Among his areas of interest are the education financing, higher education quality and equity improvement and development of skills for the labor market.
