Issa Davies is a Communication Officer with UNICEF Sierra Leone whose main responsibilities include production of human-interest stories, press releases, fact sheets; Communication and Advocacy strategies and campaigns; media engagements; Child Rights advocacy initiatives; brand building and image enhancement.
With a cumulative experience spanning over 20 years, 15 of which has been with UNICEF, Issa has led a couple of Child Rights campaigns and initiatives through the media that are geared towards creating increased awareness and understanding of Child Rights issues.
He has also contributed immensely to emergency Communication and played pivotal roles during the Ebola outbreak in Sierra Leone in 2014–2015, mudslide and COVID-19.
He holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English and Sociology, Diploma in Mass Communications and a Master of Science in Governance and Leadership from the University of Sierra Leone. He has also benefitted from series of trainings in Strategic Communication and Advocacy at international level.
He is a Sierra Leonean born in Freetown on the 3rd April 1978.
