Aid to education
The Department for Development Policy in the Ministry for Foreign Affairs handles Finland’s international development policy, development cooperation policy and development and humanitarian financing.
The priority areas for development cooperation in education include:
- global education
- the rights of children and youth
- education from early childhood development through higher education
- employment
- capacity building of educational institutions
- promoting children’s right to childhood and education
- combating child labor
In 2017, the top recipients of basic education ODA disbursement were: Mozambique, West Bank and Gaza Strip, Uganda, Afghanistan, Myanmar.
